KENGEN (Kenya Electricity Generating Company)
This is the leading electric power generation company in Kenya, producing about 80 percent of electricity consumed in the country. The company utilizes various sources to generate electricity ranging from hydro, geothermal, thermal and wind.
ERC (Energy Regulatory Commission)
Formed to regulate the energy sector in a fair, transparent and predictable manner consistent with government policy and sensitive to stakeholder interests.
REA (Rural Electrification Authority)
Formed to accelerate the pace of rural electrification in order to promote sustainable socio-economic development.
KETRACO (Kenya Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd.)
KETRACO’s core business is to plan, design, build, operate and maintain new electricity transmission lines and associated substations that will form the backbone of the National Transmission Grid.
